Keeping Up With Cass – January 2023

Month 1 of 2023 has come & gone, talk about time flying!

Update:

Talk about a wild first month to start the year!
We started 2023 in Florida which was amazing. We went to the FontaineBleu New Years Eve Party, which was a totally different kind of night for us. It was a great time & we were able to ring in the New Year with a bunch of my family friends which was even more special. Day 1 of 2023 was probably the most amazing, we were invited to a boat day with my parents, and got to spend the day on the intercostal in Miami, it was such a beautiful day & so nice to see so many friends again! Miami is literally becoming our second home (thanks mom & dad), but it’s so practical & such an easy flight.
We got back & basically I just try to stay busy every day, now that i’m not working i’m finding it a little tough to fill the day but it’s okay, the peace & quiet won’t last much longer. I took down all the Christmas decorations once we got back, which is always sad but we have a rule that nothing stays up longer than a few days into the new year.
We then celebrated ‘P’s 30th birthday. He just wanted to keep it low key, which is okay despite it being a milestone birthday.
I started my new course, which was really exciting, so I’m just slowly trekking along with that. I’m enjoying it so far & it’s been challenging forsure but nice to be able to keep a little busy & keep my brain working while I’m pregnant & unemployed. I’m really excited for this career change and just hope all goes well & I can pass these two courses before little miss arrives.
Weekends from then on out got a little hectic, we had a wedding one weekend, we did a birthday brunch for my moms birthday the next day, and then we had ‘P’s work Christmas party this past weekend which was out of town in Niagara Falls. It’ll feel really nice to just have a chill weekend this upcoming weekend but it was definitely nice having a few things to look forward to.
Otherwise, school is keeping me busy these days which is a really nice change up from how last month was.

Fitness:

I’m super tired again, so i’m taking things day by day here. Some days I walk on my little indoor treadmill, some days I do some stretching, other days I do weights or pilates. It really all depends on how i’m feeling & how much energy I have.

Pregnancy & Baby:

We are officially starting week 29 today, I am currently in the 3rd trimester, the home stretch is officially here. I am really pregnant now & things are starting to just get more & more uncomfortable day by day.

A few big things happened which is like a little weight off my shoulders. I finished my baby registry, which was a huge relief. I did end up going in person to a few stores to do some research which made it feel even more real. It’s taking all the restraint in the world from buying every little thing I can find that I love for her. But finishing a baby registry is a huge milestone, you read all this stuff & it was seriously overwhelming as a first time mom. The baby shower has been planned & is happening at the beginning of March. I’m super excited to be able to celebrate little miss with everyone we love. I’ll also be super happy once it’s over because then i’ll start to really dive into getting her nursery together & really start buying things, I’m holding off so I don’t overdo it before in case we get doubles.
