The first month of 2022 has come & gone!
All I can say it, has been one hell of a busy month!
Life:
We rang in the new year in sunny Saint Lucia this year. It felt so nice spending the week in the Caribbean sun, not worrying about a damn thing. We didn’t leave the resort but it was a beautiful island, the water was refreshing & crystal clear, all I can say is I missed beach vacations.
We did celebrate our delayed Christmas with ‘P’s family as well. It was nice to be able to see everyone finally & just celebrate.
Coming into the new year, I knew this year would be another crazy one & that I needed to really tackle my budgeting & saving more this year. I did spend some time making a budget spreadsheet for me to track both my monthly & yearly spending/savings. So we’ll see how this goes!
Reading: New Year, New Reading Goals. I kept my same reading goal as last year (55 books), not only because I didn’t hit it last year but also because I knew this was going to be a busy year. I needed something manageable. I am already off to a decent start which is extremely exciting.
Fitness wise: I have been doing Melissa Wood Health workouts & Peloton workouts pretty well daily this month. It’s been a nice mix of cardio, strength & both yoga/pilates. It has been so nice mixing yoga & pilates back into my workout rotation.
I have also started trying to take daily or every other day afternoon walks as well (obviously depending on how cold it is outside). This has been a total lifesaver for me during the week. I really don’t move much in general & want to up my daily step count (even though I don’t track that anymore).
Wedding Planning:
Now that we are just under 10 months out from saying ‘I Do’ there was a whole lot to do again. I set up our wedding website, we sent our invitations out to get printed, we saw our floral mock-ups, had our second interview (2 out of 4 done) with the priest, & even signed up for our marriage course. You can say it’s been a busy month on the wedding side.
Work:
Work has been busy, work has been meh, work has been a whole lot. I am now done month 3 of waiting for my new contract, so I’m just starting to get really antsy.
I did celebrate my 1 year work anniversary with this company so that was exciting, especially seeing how much we grew as a company.
I did hire someone who is starting tomorrow, which is exciting. They’ll be working really closely with me & I’ll be able to pass a few things off to them which will be nice.

Oooo what are these meetings with your priest and marriage course? My brother and fiancee didnt have to do any of that with their church and I’m actually really shocked haha

Omg seriously! So because we are getting married in a Catholic Church, we have to go through a required marriage course that is literally 6 weeks long, with Covid they are now online but yeah. And then our priest likes to meet you & talk & pretty well just interview us constantly to make sure we really want to do this.
But wow that is literally shocking, everyone I know has had to, & if you don’t you can’t get married in the church 🤯

Ooooo wow! But it makes sense as well. You don’t want to be in a bad marriage and divorce is a nono lol

exactly, or I got the feeling he was trying to make sure I wasn’t being forced into an arranged marriage lol
