Where the heck do I start with this month
Life:
We had a hell of a month …. We were busy with house stuff, attempting to get a venue/date locked down, work, you name it. We really didn’t do much otherwise. We literally only made it up north once, which was seriously heart breaking. But it was one of those never ending house months, I have now officially added a house section cause at this point it deserves it’s own update section.
While doing one of our house renovation tasks, Mr ‘P’ cut his hand up pretty band & ended up needing 10 stitches, fast forward to this past weekend, he was in & out of the hospital, it’s been mayhem. Turns out his stitches got infected, he needs to go daily to get an IV now, he has had an MRI & an X-Ray to also look at it & they have him booked with a surgeon (tomorrow) to really get to the bottom of it. It’s been an interesting time you can say & this little PSA will be: Take injuries seriously. It’s been an exhausting little bit for me, I do all my usual chores, plus now his (since he can’t lift anything), and more, I might need to line up for an IV Drip to give me energy next.
Reading: I tried my best here. I did end up taking out books from the library for the first time since pre-Covid & it felt so strange but nice to read physical books. It’s also a bonus that the library is like a 5 minute walk from the house. On that note, between physical books & e-books, I read 6 books! I have read 37/55 books in my 2022 reading challenge.
Fitness wise: We have a home gym so I finally got back into my groove, & then the basement had a leak in the gym corner & we couldn’t do anything until it was fixed. So I went for walks & did some low-intensity movement stuff like barre & yoga upstairs. Now that the basement is back up & ready i’m trying to get into a little routine, I try to do strength training 3 times a week, cardio 2 times a week & then low intensity 1 or 2 days, it’s been a nice little balance which has been nice.
House:
Where to start! In August alone we have: had to replace our furnace/air conditioning, get a new water tank, had a leak in the basement that needed to be fixed asap, got the house ready to be painted, got the painting started, moved a whole bunch of stuff into the basement while the house is being painted, ripped out the master closet, ordered a new closet system, ordered a pool cover (apparently they didn’t own a pool cover …), &&&& I think that might be it, I don’t know, there is probably more.
Tomorrow we are finally getting a water softener installed, it’s been a long month & a bit with only hard water, so I am beyond excited!
Wedding Planning:
So we took the route of hiring a wedding planner, we started to do things on our own & realized just how stressful it was, so we enlisted some help. Which she has been amazing, we started looking at venues & have been trying to nail down a date, which is honestly going to be the death of me. Until we finally get the date we want we can’t really move forward on anything … But we did get our invite list together, which could be compared to pulling teeth, up next is getting all the addresses..
Work:
Work was busy, I have now another job with my job, I get to do sales calls now. Which I literally hate but yeah. I am way to busy work wise to even move away from my desk during the day & it really has been draining. It’s nice that things are picking up, I just can’t wait until we hire some people. My responsibilities are slowly going to be shifting from marketing/sales/business development to partnerships in the coming months & i’m just getting really excited for that!
