How in the world is June already done ….
I don’t know about you but time is just flying on by these days!
Lockdown was finally lifted at the beginning of June, but things didn’t really open up until mid June so it’s been okay! We did get up north a few weekends and we also spent a week at a rented cottage with ‘P’s family, I always get so nervous for things like this with his family but it was a surprisingly good week, plus it was a nice change of scenery.
I also got my 2nd vaccine dose this past month, which was a blessing in itself & i’m just so thankful to have had the opportunity to get it!
We are officially moving out of the condo in 15 days & into the new house in 21 days, (little buffer between places) but I’m definitely starting to feel the stress now. All the majour shopping is done, we’re just waiting on the big stuff to arrive, but other than that all I really need to do is pack the condo up, which won’t take long at all. Now that the move is around the corner, it feels so surreal.
This morning we actually boarded a plane to British Columbia (if you can, travel local right now), a trip that has now been moved multiple times now, but it actually is finally happening! We are spending a few days in the Mountains – hiking, zip lining, etc at Whistler Blackcomb, I’ve never been in the summer so I’m excited to see it this time of year! Plus it’ll be a seriously nice change of scenery & it just felt amazing knowing we would be leaving the province for a few days, plus I will be unplugging completely from work, which I didn’t do that week away so that’ll be a really nice feeling!
Reading: With nothing to worry about on the condo/house side, I did get a ton of reading done, which was nice. This past month really had me get back ahead of my reading goal for the year!
Fitness wise: I didn’t end up starting the summer challenge that I planned to, but i am just trying to make sure i workout daily, whether it’s a walk, a bike ride, yoga, or something, I’m just making sure to move my body. I have been doing more low-impact type workouts, and feel 10000 times better than ever, i don’t think my body is as stressed as it was from other workouts. I am also planning my workouts mainly around what my Whoop band tells me my energy is at for the day, which has made all the difference, you can also read more here. Work has been a busy one, it has only been picking up which has been pretty nice. We are getting busier, talking with more potential clients, etc. I also get to hire someone to work under me soon, which will be a nice relief to help me share some of my work & get a few things off my plate, so that’s exciting!
Still surviving my volunteer role, it has been going okay. For how much longer, I’m honestly not sure, i’m exploring other volunteer opportunities as we speak but honestly I don’t want to add anything to my plate prior to the move, so I’ll see how the next few weeks go!
