Keeping Up With Cass – January 2021

One month of 2021 has come & gone!

I honestly did not think we would still be dealing with Covid in 2021, but here we are still hoping it goes away.

Life:

This month has been pretty blah in a lot of ways.
We started the year in a lockdown, which then turned into a more serious lockdown & then there were stay at home orders in place, which meant you literally couldn’t leave the house except to get groceries & go for a walk basically. So it’s been a rather boring start than normal.
I think I spent almost the whole month of January at my parent’s cottage, which I am so thankful for. I think if ‘P’ & I were couped up in the condo & both working from home, there would have been a break up post, but we avoided that.
Fitness Wise: I move everyday. Yes you read that right. I go for a walk usually, I don’t know for how long or any of that but I do get outside for a walk everyday even if I don’t want to. I also have gotten out cross country skiing a few times a week or skating. I rode the bike the few days I was home to get a little more intense cardio in. However, I used the Peloton app a whole lot, I have been trying yoga classes, pilates classes, strength classes & even dance cardio classes, which has been totally different. I find them to be okay but honestly being able to just follow someone’s instructions has been a game changer & has helped me get back to doing some other fitness variations I miss from pre-covid.

What I’ve Been Watching:

Netflix:

  • Murder Mountain – started but didn’t finish
  • Death to 2020
  • Nice Girl Like You
  • The Crown – part of S1 (I couldn’t get into it)

Prime:

  • Yellowstone – S1

Hay U:

  • Below Deck – S9
  • Love ISland UK – S6

TV:

  • Nancy Drew
  • The Good Doctor
  • Legacies

What Have I Been Reading:

  • Hidden Valley Road by Robert Kolker
  • The Return by Nicholas Sparks
  • Troubles In Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand
  • Rocky Mountain Freedom by Vivian Arend
  • In Five Years by Rebecca Serle

Work:

Well, where do I begin. I ended up getting offered a dream job with a local startup, right before the holidays, so yours truly gave her notice and started the new year on a high here. I’ve been working from home obviously so that’s been interesting but I think i’ve been adjusting well & my work social media posts have been doing amazing so that’s been such a great feeling. I just can’t wait to be able to get into the office & really get into everything more hands on.

  1. I get it. I thought 2021 would be the start of recovery and things getting better but as you said, it’s just getting worst, and all these regulations getting extended. Luckily, Vancouver is not in a strict lockdown (yet?) but I’m getting tired.

I’m happy to hear that you’re keeping active! If I’m being honest, my COVID exercise habits are definitely better than pre-COVID times, hahahaha. I’ve been using Obe since the start of lockdown back in March 2020, and now I feel like I can’t go back to my regular gym routine. I LOVE being told what to do and not have to think or plan my exercises anymore.

Congratulations on your new job and horray for being your dream job as well!!!

    • Right, it’s been a tiring year & even start now to this one. But I’m glad to hear you aren’t completely locked down out there, we wanted to come out there to ski but obviously have to wait this year!

That’s amazing to hear, I’ve heard so many good things about obe I’m glad it’s been working for you!

      Thank you 😊😊
