Keeping Up With Cass – September 2020

Hey Friends,
Hope you are all having a fantastic Wednesday!

Life: Where do I begin, it’s been a month!
So I finally got a job, I started that last week, it’s been good so far. I am definitely not used to the long days, so that’s been an adjustment, but it’s been good for me to get out of the house, but i’m honestly just exhausted from the long days.
It’s now soup season/football season. I did get the crock pot back out for week 3 of football, my first pulled pork of this fall was a success (thank goodness). We also tried one of those good food boxes last month, it was great in the sense they give you everything & you just read the instructions, there just isn’t much of a variety for us picky eaters so we cancelled it after the one box.
I did get out golfing one more time this past month, which was great. We walked all 18, I thought I was going to die, but I made it out alive, didn’t have my best round but oh well that’s life!
Last week I did end up cutting my hair super short, let me tell you, at the time it felt so amazing & all that, now it’s just become a pain because I have to always do my hair. But it felt good to do & I know it’ll only be a matter of time before it’s long again!
Reading: Just casually reading when I can at this point. I am already past my my yearly reading goal of 50 books (golf clap, golf clap). So that was awesome, plus I didn’t think i’d be here so yeah. This month I honestly didn’t get much reading in, but I have officially hit 56/50 books this year!
Fitness wise: I’ve been riding the peloton or doing their other app workouts pretty well everyday, i’m just trying to mix it up to keep the progress from the last year and a bit, but it’s been tough without a weekly schedule being shown to me. But personally this bike has already been a good investment for us both. One thing is for sure, I miss weight training & being social at the gym, but maybe one day i’ll be able to get back to that.
Condo: We got our new dishwasher this past month! It’s the little things that get me excited these days apparently. We also ordered a closet system which is just step one of getting those bad boys organized. We also repainted the bedroom, all the trim/doors & then touched up the ceilings where my bad paint job was noticeable. We also got some new curtains for the bedroom & the main area. So yes, basically everything we have been putting off on doing, we got done this past month, which is such a relief and I don’t need to worry about anything now for a while!
Relationship: It was a tough beginning of the month, ‘P’ was under a whole lot of stress from work & me being all bored (before the new job) didn’t help, so that caused some interesting times, but we made it through, we each get some alone time now that I am back to work & things are just better in general now that I have that feeling of purpose back, i’m also not cooped up in the house alone so i’m not bugging him 24/7 anymore.

Work:

Had a few interviews at the beginning of the month & then actually started at a new job last Monday.  It’s been a big adjusting going back to work & working in a new field/a new career. Because of that I do feel quite lost at times which sucks, but I’m trying to stay positive & all that!
