And just like that, summer is pretty much over!
Life: So another month of not much happening over here, we went to the cottage most weekends, we did go to one of ‘P’s friends parents cottage the weekends we didn’t go to my parents. So basically we just tried to spend as much time outside as we could while we could!
I tried Float Therapy this past month & discovered that it wasn’t for me, which was totally okay., I’m just glad I was able to give it a chance before writing it off completely!
I also got to do another photo shoot with my mom (that’s what i’m calling these day trips from now on) at a sunflower farm. I’m glad she has been pushing me to leave the confines of the condo during the week, plus it was pretty!
I have also gone golfing quite a few times (kidding only 3) not as much as last summer, but I’m happy i’ve been able to get out & play this past month. I even played 18 each time. My game is getting a heck of a lot more consistent which is just so exciting for me. Now I just need to get out and practice more!
The other day was the one year anniversary of my grandpa’s passing. It was honestly a tough weekend for me, he was the first of my grandparents to go, so that also made it tougher. I miss him dearly, but I know he is not consistently sick & in the hospital, but instead watching over us. Plus, I know we will meet again one day.
On a slightly happier note, we booked a trip to Mont Tremblant at the end of January. We had wanted to go out to Whistler but because BC is looking like they’ll be shutting down again, there was no way that was happening. Plus, we miss traveling & what better than to just travel within Canada. Plus I mean, the prices to go to Tremblant are insanely cheap compared to what they normally are so we booked it & figured we would deal with everything as we got closer (aka if we have to cancel due to another wave or something like that).
Reading: Just casually been checking all the books off my TBR & all that I can. I did hit my yearly reading goal of 50 books (golf clap, golf clap). So that was awesome! I have officially hit 52/50 books.
Fitness wise: So i’ve been using the Peloton regularly, which I was so nervous I wouldn’t. I usually go for a 20 – 45 minute ride, depending on how I am feeling, I have also been trying the other workouts on the peloton app, like the stretching & core workouts. I’m just trying to use the app since we pay for it! (Since i’m all about being helpful, & love saving money, apparently once you have a bike, you get a code. So feel free to message me & i’ll share it!)
I did finally finish Linn Lowes ‘At Home’ program on Friday, the 12 week program only took a few months, but hey thats okay! It feels great to be done, it’s not looming over me anymore, taunting me. But I listened to my body & took some days/weeks off. I just found it tough transitioning from gym to home, but overall it was a great program. I am currently debating which to start next, I’m leaning towards the 6-week summer challenge, but I’m torn.
Condo: It was my one year anniversary of living in the condo, so that was exciting. I did end up buying a dishwasher, that arrives within the month, & we have started to talk about what we want to do in the bathroom for when we redo it, so i’ve been doing some research & all that. I have also reached out to some closet organizer companies to have a virtual closet appointment, i’m just sick of the lack of space & all that for the two of us & I just want the closets to fit more & be organized.
The other day, I completely re-organized the kitchen cupboards & drawers, i’m just so happy that I did it. I have one more cupboard to get through but i’m saving that for a rainy day now.
We did also make it through a whole year of having a bbq on the balcony, we received one email that was never enforced & probably got forgotten about by the building, so that was exciting.

I have been continuously applying as well so we will see.
I did just join a startup where I know the founders well to help with their social media, unfortunately it’s unpaid for the time being but social media isn’t the most time consuming & I can work when I want, but they’re giving me something to add to my resume at the moment. But yeah, so this week will be my first week doing stuff with them so it’s a little nerve racking, but at the same time it’s a good thing for me at the moment.

Glad that you have been able to get out quite a bit the last month, though it seems crazy that we are already officially in autumn!

Cass, I’ve been golfing like crazy this Summer too and definitely improving. I really need work on my short game but I just don’t ever put in the practice time. I need to do that. It’s a goal. My daughter plays on her high school JV team and I’m so proud of her. Keep golfing! It’s a lifelong activity.
PS I see you’re watching Dirty John: Betty. I am too. I’m halfway through and it’s ok but I think Season 1 was way better. Did you see that one?

All the high schools around here have girls golf. It’s popular. My daughter just completely surprised last year by trying out. She had never golfed at all prior to that, other than me taking her to the driving range when she was little. She’s getting better for sure and I’m so proud of her!
Dirty John Season 2 is more depressing than anything else. The acting is good but the story is kinda flat in my opinion. However, Season 1 was really interesting and crazy. Eric Bana was nuts!!!!

That’s awesome! Also, glad to hear she’s enjoying it & golfing, not many girls are into it, so it’s always exciting!
right! It’s so sad & like you said depressing compared to the last one, I know all these stories are meant to show different cases, which I found exciting in it’s own way!

I finished Season 2. It was ok but really depressing. I wonder if there will be a Season 3.
