Keeping Up With Cass – May 2020

GoodBye May! Hello Summer

So another month has come & gone, this past month was pretty boring again, but thankfully things are slowly opening up here, but yes, I am not leaving the house much still.
So where do I begin. Basically for the past month, we have been driving down to P’s rental house that he owns in this university town & pretty well doing a bunch of maintenance & cleaning up & freshened up the paint! He figured it was better now than in the dead of summer like we would have had to do, plus none of the boys are living there at the moment so they’ll just come back to a clean & new looking place. So thankfully thats kept us a little busy one day a weekend. Hopefully we only have two more visits, it shouldn’t be much longer!
We celebrated Cinco De Mayo in true fashion & decided to support a little Mexican restaurant. I tried a new marg recipe that was way way to potent so we just stuck with corona’s that night.
We also got lucky & got to spend mothers day weekend with both our mums. We brought dinner with us each night & ultimately we had an amazing family filled weekend!
I had another month of good reading! I didn’t read as much as last month but honestly just still checking books off my TBR & e-library hold list! However, ‘P’ just bought me a Kindle E-reader (the amazon one), I’m still waiting for it but I’m excited to start reading on it.
Unlike last month, I stopped mixing up my workouts a whole lot, that was doing me no good. So right now I’m walking anywhere from 4km- 7km per day I think. I’m attempting to run once a week, which has been okay. I’m also still doing the workouts from Linn Lowes ‘At Home’ program, slowly but surely getting through them! But honestly I’ve been just walking & listening to podcasts, I find I’m enjoying that the most especially with the heat we’ve had!
I also learned how to French braid my hair, which was a big thing for me. So I’ve pretty well had my hair in braids these days more often than not.

What I’ve Been Watching:

  • Below Deck: Sailing Yaught

  • Outer Banks – S1
  • Riverdale – S4
  • Dead to Me – S2
  • Dynasty – S3
  • Selling Sunset – S1 & S2

  • Where’d You Go Bernadette
  • Dangerous Lies
  • Fifty Shades Freed
  • The Wrong Missy

What Have I Been Reading:

  • Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple
  • My Favourite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren
  • American Royals by Katharine McGee
  • The Wives by Tarryn Fisher
  • Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid
  • Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
  • What Happens in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand

I did take a big step forward & started working with a local career councillor the other day. Ultimately I am hoping she is able to help me out & already after just one session I am so happy I decided to do this. We accomplished so much in only 1 hour & now I have something to look forward to & keep me busy!
