A Cozy Winter Tag

Three Christmas posts in one week, clearly I’m overly ready for the holidays!

Thanks to Becky over at Strikeouts and Sprinkles for this cozy tag!
It’s perfect for the holiday season!

The Rules

  • Be sure to link back to the tag creator in your own post.
  • Tag 4+ of your own friends to keep the coziness going!
  • You don’t have to be tagged to fill this out—feel free to post your answers on your own blog.

1. Green Christmas or White Christmas?

A white Christmas hands down. It always feels so weird when there is no snow up here around the holidays

2. Would you rather snuggle up with a blanket or go outside and play in the snow?

I want to say both, but let’s be real. I can totally be found all snuggled up with a blanket watching movies or reading a book. But don’t get me wrong I could also spend all day outside.

3. How do you typically celebrate New Year’s?

Well, I’m no fun here. I fall asleep at literally 11 pm. I try so hard to stay awake but I totally can’t. But don’t you worry I usually fall asleep watching the ‘Dick Clark New Years‘ on tv, & I sometimes wake back up at 12 when I hear everyone celebrating.
Being an adult is hard eh, New Years used to be way more interesting when we were little.

4. Favorite winter food?

So many people might disagree with me, but I am a true Christmas Cake lover, but it can’t be store bought lol. My grandma makes a great Christmas Cake.
I also really love these polish cookies, they’re like gingerbread cookies that are sometimes filled with fruit puree or just on their own, but I can literally eat a whole bag in one sitting.
Otherwise, if those don’t count, I’m a huge soup person. So all winter you can find me eating dairy-free butternut squash, homemade chicken soup and I can go on!

5. What is your favorite seasonal drink?

Hot chocolate with almond milk baileys (yes they have a dairy free version now, thank the lord!!).

6. How early do you decorate for Christmas?

I start watching Christmas Movies (well those Hallmark Countdown to Christmas ones) literally November 1st, but I m]leave the decorating until November 30th or December 1st, depending on what day of the week it is. Ultimately if it were up to me, I would decorate like October 1st but I wait until after my birthday passes.

7. Do you enjoy the cold weather or do you get anxious for spring to come?

I have a love/hate relationship with the cold weather. Like I am all for cold days that are bearable & you can go skating or skiing & not get frost bite, but other than that once it gets beyond cold & frostbite is on the horizon, & it gets grey/gloomy, I am literally ready to head to sunny & 75 weather.

8. Do you have any special holiday traditions?

Uhhh, I don’t know if this is a holiday tradition. But every year before we eat dinner, we pray & then we ‘break holy bread’. Basically I don’t know if this is a polish tradition or what, but every year, we have holy bread which is blessed by the print. We go around the table & break a small piece off of everyones around the table while wishing them something for the upcoming year, it’s usually just a simple ‘merry Christmas, may you be healthy & safe’ type thing.

9. What is your idea of a perfect winter day?

This is tough, honestly being able to get outside & skate or snowboard or cross country ski, I love being able to get outside & enjoy the fresh air. Otherwise, if it’s gloomy, I’d have to say curled up beside the fire reading a book

10. What’s the best part about winter?

I just love the lead up to Christmas, everyone is so cheerful & excited for the holidays, & then the excitement for the New Year also comes into play. It’s just a magical time of the year. It helps that decorations & festivities are in full force helping people get into the holiday spirit!

11. What’s your favorite movie set in the winter season? (Not necessarily a Christmas movie)

Honestly, probably The Holiday, I watch it at least 100 times each Christmas season.

12. What do you hate about winter?

Just the grey & gloomy days, those always get me down.
