Happy Wednesday!
So just over one month ago I posted about what I was giving up for Lent this year. Missed it, check it out here!
Lent is only 40 days long, only 40 days. That is honestly nothing. I mean giving up something for 40 days is nothing. But guess what. I caved with almost exactly two weeks left, I repeat, almost two weeks left.
My Lent Sacrifices of 2019:
- Candy & Popcorn
- Keep My Room Clean
- Mindless Spending
- Meatless Mondays & Fridays
Update:
- Candy & Popcorn: Well the candy I caved on about a week ago, but I was so sure I would be able to keep up with the popcorn part. But I just caved & there goes that one. I’m literally sitting here eating popcorn as I write this.
- Keep My Room Clean: My room is an absolute bomb. No matter how many times I clean it, it just gets dirty right away!
- Mindless Spending: This I broke in March but i’m making up for it by doing a ‘No Spend April‘.
- Meatless Mondays & Fridays: Yeah, no chance on this. It’s hard when you know you need the protein.
Well as you can see I basically broke all FIVE of my Lent Sacrifices in one month, literally less than two weeks left. I thought I could at least keep one but i’m weak & I caved. So don’t expect a Lent update over Easter like I was planning (LOL).
But guess what, there is always next year & I can try again then!
Did you end up giving anything up for Lent? How are you doing?
Thanks for reading
xx cd
Aww nooo!!! It’s ok to fail hehe and it’s still amazing you tried! You gave up a lot of hard things lol like candy and meat and spending. How can you no spend when Payless shoes is going bankrupt and everything is 50% or 60% off!!

So many hard things to give up I know! But side note, still kinda sad Payless is going bankrupt, they have comfy shoes sometimes lol

I’m so upset that they are closing! But it did mean that I got $70 “up the to the knee” boots for $28 on Tuesday haha, that lessens that saddness just a little bit

Shoot, that’s an amazing deal. I might have to figure out where the closest one to me is & hit it this weekend!

Call first! I went to a location on Saturday and it was completely empty with a “sorry we are closed” sign in the door. I went to Fairview mall and I called on Monday and she said they were supposed to be open until the end of the month but expect no longer than two weeks

I enjoyed this post. 🙂
And, if it makes you feel any better, I failed as well.
However, an alternative to giving something up, is to “take something on”, such as being more prayerful, or giving, or reflective.

Thanks for reading!
& Thanks for the suggestion, that sounds so much more powerful & meaningful then giving something up. Might have to try that next year instead

I love your self awareness: “I’m weak and I caved”.
LOL!
