Hey y’all!
Happy Friday!
May the fourth be with you all
& Happy Cinco De Mayo! (Happy Tequila day- as I like to call it)
So I really wish I had this ready to go for May 1st, you know the whole N’Sync ‘Its gonna be me (may)’ thing, but it’s alright my inner 90’s child always has a field day with this! great.. Now I have N’Sync stuck in my head… But we it’s the fourth so we can still have some fun today with cheeky lines!
It’s also Cinco De Mayo, happy tequila day my fellow tequila lovers! You can bet i will having a little tequila later, I’ll take a shot for you all today 🙂
These days, I have so much on my plate, I have started to schedule not only my workouts into my day but also when I can see my friends. Work has been busy, I think I have roughly 10 projects on the go, plus day-to-day tasks….
Yoga teacher training is going amazing. I am finally breaking out of my shell, leaving my head & am able to not only enjoy it again but also play within my practice. I am super excited to be able to share my knowledge come June!
I am roughly one month out from running in the Toronto Waterfront 10 km & you can say I am getting super excited to get back out there & running! I have not been running much due to the amount of yoga I am doing daily but hey, no problem with just running & hopefully beating my last PR (just need to run this in 50 minutes…)
Side note:Â work has been going great, really keeping me busy. But to make my days equally more fun, our members are now playing a game called: ‘Let’s see who can set Cass up on a date first’ … Stay tuned for this one friends
Injury Update: this is now going to be a thing each month, at a work reception last night I got my pinkie finger stuck in a really heavy door.. cue the pain… It does not seem broken but it definitely does not look pretty & is seriously bruised. Let’s just say this is going to take some time to heal, bring on the year supply of band-aids & Advil!
Here is a quick monthly recap of how things are looking so far! Here’s my ‘Goals for 2018’

I always find these monthly recap posts you do to be so inspiring! Makes me want to start my own list of things I want to accomplish. Also, I’ve been stuck on the same book for over a month. I feel your pain.

Do you have a bunch of books lined up to read after that one? Because I have about 10 still in their bags and that number is gonna get bigger before it gets smaller.

I have at least 15 & counting, i’m a serious book hoarder & I don’t consider it a problem

There are worse things to hoard! I’ve run out of space on my shelf and have 200+ old magazines elsewhere

That’s probably my next step but I’m in denial so I’m just piling finished books on my desk until it becomes unbearable/it looks like a mini fort. Currently at 5 lol

Cass, you write one of my favorite blogs. It must be something about living in Toronto because I think you and Paul are the best. Ok, let me address these comments.
First of all, I love your goals and your list, etc. I too find it inspiring. I’m older than you guys but I can relate to a couple of things here. I used to drink tons of soda pop. I’m down to usually one can a week now, sometimes zero. That has made a difference in my life, along with drinking more and more water. I used to get headaches more often growing up and now I realize it was because I was probably dehydrated. I try to drink at least 40 ounces a day now and often 60 or more. It has helped. I’ve lost weight and gotten healthier.
Secondly, I am a huge book and magazine hoarder. I have a huge list of books to get too after I finish my current one, “Moneyball”. There’s nothing wrong with having a huge library. Embrace it. I’m proud to say I’ve finished a few books in my life that would seemingly never end. One was a 1000 book about Winston Churchill. Another was a long book about Teddy Roosevelt. Another was about Stalingrad. I love that history. However, one book I gave up on quickly was Charles Dickens’ “Our Mutual Friend”. Ohmygosh…..it was a horrid bore. I read about 30 pages and had enough. Gave it away.
Great stuff Cass!

I made a couple typing errors in there. I meant “to” but wrote “too”. I meant 1000 “page” book.

Thanks for the kind words as always Reid! Your blog is always a great read as I do love my sports!
1. That is so inspiring, its funny how little changes make such a difference sometimes. I really am trying to hold myself accountable with the list, otherwise if I kept it to myself nothing would be achieved!
2. So glad it’s not just me, i finally stopped buying magazines. I had a problem. How is moneyball? I have been wanting to read that one just have yet to pick up a copy!
Hope your having a great weekend Reid!

Thanks!!! My weekend got much better when the Sox beat the hated Cubs today. It’s brutal living up here on the North Side as a Sox fan. My whole neighborhood is filled with overbearing Cooooo fans. They are insufferable. I have a Sox license plate and recently these jerks in another car booed me while I was driving. Dude…..c’mon man.
Meanwhile, I’m about halfway through “Moneyball”. It’s good, maybe really good. I feel as if I already know the whole book though based on the movie and people talking about it for so long. It’s pretty much just like the Brad Pitt movie. I really enjoy it.
Hey by the way, I’m taking my family on a driving trip this summer and we’re headed to Boston and driving through Toronto. Pumped! I’m taking my son to a Blue Jays game. I’ll let you and Paul know when I get the tickets. Maybe you’d like to meet at the game or after or something. Have you ever met Paul? He’s cool. I like him. Great guy! I’ll be bringing my 11 year old son so it should be really fun. I’ll let you know…..
Thanks!!!
